Computer & Laptop Repair FAQ's

Do you fix Macs and PC’s? 
We fix all makes and models of desktops and laptops – including Macs and foreign brands like Fujitsu and Acer.  We fix both software and hardware problems, including virus problems, software corruptions, failed hard drives, cracked screens, bad logic boards, etc.

How much will it cost for you to look at my computer?
 Unlike most places, our diagnostics are always free.  Simply bring your computer into us and we will diagnose its problem at no cost.  Once we diagnose it we will give you an exact quote on how much the repair will cost – then you can decide if you want to fix it.

Do you make house calls?
 Unfortunately we do not offer in home service at this time.  We have found in home service rarely results in a satisfactory repair environment for both our clients and ourselves.  Accordingly, we do all the repairs here in our shop.  If you need immediate assistance and have a high speed internet connection we can help you through the power of our remote technician technology.  Click here to find out more. Do you offer pickup and delivery?
  We offer delivery and pickup anywhere in Manhattan.  Many of our clients that commute from the outer boroughs bring their laptops and iPods to their Manhattan office and arrange pickup from there.

How long will it take to diagnose my computer? 
We make every effort to diagnose your computer within 48 hours of your dropping it off in our store.  Occasionally your computer – especially for logic board or other hardware problems – will need a more thorough diagnostic and we will contact you accordingly.

I’ve given the go ahead to fix my computer: how long will it take?
  As a general rule, if your repair requires a part to be ordered we leave anywhere between 3-10 business days for the parts to arrive. If you need it back fast we can certainly try to order the parts with expedited shipping, however, this will likely increase the cost of your repair. Every part comes from a different supplier so the shipping times can vary greatly. Most software repairs take approximately 48 hours.

What is the warranty on your hardware repairs? 
We give a 3 month warranty on all hardware repairs.  For obvious reasons we cannot warranty software repairs.

Do you offer data recovery services? 
Yes, we do.  We can do data recovery on all but the most physically damaged drives (think loud clicking noises).  For those drives that we cannot recover data from we have partnered with OnTrac, the nation’s most trusted clean-room data recovery experts.  Although this option is more expensive – if you must have your data it’s a life and business saver.
